Terms of Service
Last updated: August 22, 2026
These Terms explain what you can expect from BeadsCAD and what we expect from you. They are written to be read, not just agreed to.
1. Agreement to These Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and BeadsCAD (“we”, “us”) covering the BeadsCAD website, the pattern editor, and the community feed (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Service.
How we handle personal data is described separately in our Privacy & Cookie Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Operator/legal entity and postal address to be completed by the site owner. Questions about these Terms: info@beadscad.com.
2. The Service
BeadsCAD is a design tool for bead-weave patterns (Loom, Peyote, and Brick stitches). You can draw on a bead grid, build color palettes, save your work to your account, print or export it, and — if you choose — publish patterns to a public community feed.
The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may introduce paid plans in the future. If we do, we will not retroactively charge you for work you have already created.
3. Accounts & Eligibility
You need an account to create and store patterns. You can register with an email address and password, or sign in with Google.
- Age: you must be at least 16 years old to create an account. BeadsCAD is not directed to younger children.
- Accurate details: register with details that are true, and do not impersonate another person or brand.
- Your credentials: keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account — tell us at info@beadscad.com if you think someone else has access to it.
- One account per person is the rule of thumb; accounts created in bulk or by automated means may be removed.
4. Your Patterns Stay Yours
You keep ownership of everything you create. Your patterns, palettes, names, and descriptions (“Your Content”) remain yours, and we claim no ownership of them.
To be able to run the Service for you, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, and display Your Content — solely so that we can save your work, sync it between your devices, render thumbnails and printable sheets, and keep backups. This licence exists only to operate the Service and ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for having the right to what you draw or upload. Do not publish patterns that reproduce someone else’s artwork, photograph, logo, or character without their permission.
5. Publishing to the Community Feed
Marking a pattern “Public” publishes it to the community feed, where anyone — including visitors who are not signed in — can view it alongside your username as its author, search for it, and print it.
- Publishing is your choice, and it is reversible. You can switch a pattern back to Private at any time, and it will stop appearing in the feed.
- Removal is not instant everywhere. The feed is cached for a few minutes, and once a pattern has been visible, other people may already have viewed, printed, or copied it. Treat publishing as public and, in practice, permanent.
- By publishing, you allow other users to view, print, and bead your pattern for their own personal, non-commercial use, unless your pattern description says otherwise. Every other right stays with you.
- We may unpublish or remove public patterns that breach these Terms. Where we can, we will make the pattern private again rather than delete it, so you keep your work.
6. Acceptable Use
When using BeadsCAD, you agree not to:
- Upload or publish content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, or that promotes discrimination or self-harm.
- Infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
- Post spam, advertising, malware, or links that have nothing to do with bead patterns.
- Try to reach other people’s accounts or private patterns, probe or overload our infrastructure, or work around rate limits and security measures.
- Scrape, bulk-download, or resell the community feed, or use automated tools to create accounts or patterns.
7. Copyright Complaints
If you believe a pattern on BeadsCAD infringes your copyright, email info@beadscad.com with a description of your work, a link to the pattern, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or are authorised to act for them. We will review it and, where appropriate, unpublish or remove the pattern. Accounts that infringe repeatedly may be terminated.
8. Local Sandbox Mode & Your Own Backups
If our server is unreachable, BeadsCAD keeps working in “Local Sandbox” mode and saves your patterns in your browser’s local storage so that you do not lose your work. The editor also mirrors cloud patterns there while you draw.
Browser storage is not a backup. Clearing site data, private browsing, switching browser or device, or your browser reclaiming space will erase locally-stored patterns, and we cannot recover them. Export anything you would be sorry to lose.
9. Availability & Changes to the Service
We do our best to keep BeadsCAD running, but it comes with no uptime guarantee. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service — including features, storage limits, or the community feed — and maintenance may make it temporarily unavailable. Where a change is material and we can reasonably reach you, we will give notice.
10. Suspension & Termination
You can stop using BeadsCAD whenever you like and delete your account from your Account & Privacy page. Deleting your account erases your patterns and settings.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms or creates legal risk for us or for other users. Except where a serious or repeated breach makes it inappropriate, we will warn you first and give you a chance to export your patterns.
11. Disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Bead measurements are estimates. Physical dimensions, bead counts, and material estimates are calculated from nominal bead sizes and will differ from real beads, which vary by brand, batch, thread tension, and stitch. Check against a sample before you buy materials or commit to a project.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for lost data or patterns arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free account, is nothing) or EUR 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.
13. Indemnity
If your content or your use of the Service leads to a third-party claim against us, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages we incur, to the extent the claim results from your breach of these Terms or from your infringement of someone’s rights. This does not apply where you act as a consumer and the law provides otherwise.
14. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the country in which the operator is established, to be stated here by the site owner. If you are a consumer resident in the EU or the UK, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your own country and may bring proceedings before your local courts.
We would far rather fix a problem than argue about one — please write to info@beadscad.com first.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service develops. The date at the top always shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will highlight it in the app or by email where we can. Continuing to use BeadsCAD after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
16. General
- If any provision of these Terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
- If we do not enforce a right straight away, we do not give it up.
- You may not transfer your account or these Terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a successor if the Service changes hands, without reducing your rights.
- These Terms and the Privacy & Cookie Policy are the whole agreement between us about the Service.
